Yulia Kovas

Teaches: Individual Differences

Yulia Kovas is Professor of Genetics and Psychology, author of over 200 books, chapters and scientific papers: (https://scholar.google.co.uk/citations?user=k8cKOq0AAAAJ&hl=en). The aim of her research is to provide insights into the complex co-action between genetic and environmental factors in their effects on learning, motivation, achievement and other human traits. Her research uses psychology, neuroscience, twin methodology, cross-cultural comparisons and other approaches.  

She is Visiting Professor at King’s College London, where she collaborates on research into aetiology of individual differences, as part of Twins Early Development Study (TEDS,  https://www.teds.ac.uk). She is Professor Emeritus at Goldsmiths, University of London; and Visiting Professor at several international Universities, including New York University in London. She directs InLab – International Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Investigations into Individual Differences (http://tagc.world/inlab/). Yulia has Chaired Psychology Ethics Committees and served as Director for Research for Psychology. She is co-founder of TAGC – the Accessible Genetics Consortium that aims to raise genetic literacy, promote beneficial use of genetic information and prevent risks brought by genetic advances. She is Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board at Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics and is scientific advisor to a number of international laboratories and projects.
