Teaches: The Play’s The Thing (Theatre course)
Gemma has first class degrees from Oxford University and The Open University and obtained her PhD on Shakespeare from King’s College London. She teaches for a range of American colleges, including: Berkeley, Ithaca, Oberlin, UConn and Susquehanna. Gemma also lectures at Shakespeare’s Globe and teaches for the University of London Worldwide English degree. Gemma has published a book on Shakespeare and Childhood and writes regular performance reviews for academic journals. Gemma’s first love is the theatre and her tastes are eclectic, ranging from Shakespeare and the Greeks to experimental writing, political drama and musical theatre. She particularly enjoys introducing American study abroad students to the joys of the London theatre scene. There really is something for everyone.
